From exercising to different health screenings, the team at Peninsula Regional Medical Center is standing by, ready and willing to help you get in the best shape of your life. We sit down with Exercise Physiologist, Caroline Farrell.
February is American Heart Month, and on Wednesday, February 13th from 3-5 pm., Peninsula Regional’s Ocean Pines Health Pavilion will open its doors for tours and more. Adult Fitness Ocean Pines will offer free blood pressure screenings and tours of its exercise facilities. A physician will be on hand for “Ask the Doc” questions, as well as pharmacy and laboratory experts. All community members are welcome to stop by, participate in or observe exercise demonstrations, speak with medical experts and enjoy light refreshments and giveaways.

Amy’s Army aims to preserve the legacy of Amy Stoops Rhodes by enhancing the lives of others within the community. Amy’s Army was created to continue Amy’s profound legacy, which has lived on through their contributions to Channel Marker, Camp New Dawn, Compass Regional Hospice, scholarships, and assistance to families who find their lives turned upside-down during a trauma. We have two members of “Amy’s Army” with us today, Holly Rhodes and Heather Comegys, to tell us more about it.

Gale Smith, of Millsboro, is here in the Kirby and Holloway Kitchen Making Potato Salad with a Hot Vinegar Base.
Hot potato salad
8 boiling potatoes, 2.5 pounds
5 slices bacon
1 tbsp flour
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp sugar
1 onion, sliced thinly
2 tsp parsley
pepper to taste
boil potatoes until tender
slice bacon into small pieces & fry until crisp.
remove from pan.
to fat in pan, add flour & blend, then slowly add vinegar and water.
cook until it thickens.
add salt, sugar and onion.
peel & slice potatoes.
add bacon to them and pour hot dressing over them.
