Celebrate Birding Weekend June 11 & 12 in Grasonville
Birding enthusiasts are invited to the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center in Grasonville, Maryland this weekend for a celebration of all things bird-related.
The CBEC has more than 500 acres on its nature preserve in Grasonville and is home to over 230 species of birds throughout the year.
Judy Wink, who is an ornithologist and executive director foof the CBEC, said this weekend’s birding celebration is being held during the “prime time of the year for migratory birds and nesting birds,” including osprey hatchlings.
Several ticketed events are planned for the weekend, including a slow boat excursion of osprey nests, walks with ornithologists, workshops and a photography field trip.
“This gets people outdoors and a chance to see birds, particularly birds that are nesting,” Wink said.
Pre-registration is required. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
