The Winter Garden: A Succession of Color and Fragrance
January 17 @ 6:30 am - 8:30 pm| $35 – $125
“Why not garden deliberately for the winter season? Bring together a succession of winter flowers for color and fragrance to create a dynamic scene against a backdrop of evergreens, colored stems, bark and berries. Join lecturer, author and consultant Charles Cresson at the University of Delaware Botanic Gardens for this 3 part lecture series, “The Winter Garden: A Succession of Color and Fragrance”, on Wednesdays, January 17, 24, and 31 from 6:30-8:30 PM in 132 Townsend Hall on UD’s South Campus. The January 17th lecture covers the basics of winter gardening, what plants flower in winter, how they do it, and where to grow them in your garden. You’ll learn about choosing the best winter flowering trees and shrubs on the 24th and the best winter flowering perennials and bulbs on the 31st. The cost for UDBG Friends is $95 for the series or $35/class, and for nonmembers, $125 for the series or $45/class. Pre-payment is required with registration.
