The Arts at Trinity Presents Serafin Ensemble
September 20, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm| Free
Serafin Ensemble kicks off the fall “Arts Season” with Serafin & Friends – the first local live chamber music performance of the season – on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 4 p.m.
Presented by The Arts at Trinity, the concert features Serafin roster artists Amos Fayette and Kate Ransom, violins, and guest artist Jennifer Nicole Campbell, piano.
The repertoire includes a violin and piano sonata from Beethoven, in a nod to his 250th birthday celebration year; a duo for two violins from 18th Century French composer and violinist, Jean-Marie Leclair; a “showy gem” of a solo violin work from Karol Lipinski; a violin and piano sonata by Danish composer Niels Gade, who was championed by Mendelssohn and a close friend of Robert Schumann. Also featured on the program are original works by Campbell, and the World Premiere of a work by her former teacher – pianist and composer, David Auldon Brown.
“We are truly delighted that we can bring back live music to The Arts at Trinity with our beloved Serafins this fall,” says Trinity Music Director, Terrence Gaus-Woolen. “I cannot imagine a better musical offering to the series followers and the community. The Serafins always deliver an interesting program, and a polished, sensitive, and high-spirited performance.”
Trinity Episcopal Church is The Arts at Trinity’s venue, located at 1108 N. Adams Street in the heart of downtown Wilmington. Admission is free but advance reservations are REQUIRED as seating is limited. All social distancing and safety protocols will be in place, and masks must be worn for entry to this live, family-friendly performance.
Reservations can be made through Eventbrite.com, which can be accessed by link from www.serafinensemble.org.
