Inaugural Juneteenth Celebration

The City of Lewes Celebrates & Sponsors It’s Inaugural Juneteenth Celebration hosted by The Lewes African American Heritage Commission at George H.P. Smith Park (aka Block House Pond) on Johnson & DuPont Ave Lewes De. The event will commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the U.S. which was first celebrated in Texas on June 19th . There will be live music by Christy Taylor & Golden Branch and Mike Hines & The Look, DAANDE LENOL African & Native American dance and drum, poetry, speakers, ASL, Info Tables and over 60 vendors. Free Entry to the Community and Everyone is Welcome from Seniors to Children. Food Trucks and Vendors will offer items for purchase. Event 6/25 1:00-6:00pm. Rain Date 6/26 .
