Wyatt’s Warriors Foundation, Spreading Awareness About CHD
One-in-100 babies are born with a congenital heart defect, or CHD.
We learn about Wyatt’s Warriors Foundation and how the group is spreading the word about CHD through the month of February. Wyatt’s Warriors Foundation was created to honor the memory of Wyatt Mercer Shipe who was born with TGA, Transposition of the Greater Arteries. Wyatt only lived 44 days, but his family and friends set out on a mission to help families at a difficult time by providing comfort, support, education and encouragement.
Jen Shipe, Wyatt’s mother and founder of Wyatt’s Warriors, and Dr. Michelle David-Hugues, Neonatolgist at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, joins us in Historic Studio D to talk about heart defects.
