What’s Happening Today – Sept. 21, 2017
Today on DelmarvaLife:
There may be topics you’d like to discuss with your doctor, but you just can’t bring yourself to ask him or her. That’s where our ‘Ask the Doc’ segment can be helpful for you. Dr. Chris Snyder with Peninsula Regional Medical Center stops by the studio today to answer viewer questions. Today, Dr. Snyder answers questions about using too much lip balm, water weight, and children’s fear of haircuts. No question is off limits! Send your questions to email@example.com and remain completely anonymous.
Trap Pond Partners’ Third Annual Beer, Wine and Spirits Festival is taking place on Sat., Sept. 23 from noon-4 pm at Trap Pond State Park in Laurel, Del. If you do not like how your lawn is looking, now is the time to do something about it. Gardening Expert, Ginny Rosenkranz, joins us in the studio to talk about our lawns, soil tests, and fertilizers.
Cleaning up the yard takes a lot of work but the worst part is figuring out how to haul it off your property. Perhaps that could change with the help of a utility trailer. Corey stopped by Creighton’s Trailer Sales in Mardela Springs where he quickly learned how useful a trailer can be.
The official start to fall is tomorrow, Sept. 22. With a new season, comes new fall fashion. Manager of About Faces Day Spa and Salon in Salisbury, Crystal Miles, along with Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist, Ty Taylor, join us in the studio to tell us about what is trending this season as far as clothing, shoes, hair, and makeup. We are having a little fashion show today with models showing off the trending fall looks and young models showing off Halloween costumes. About Faces is having an event, “Fall Into Fashion” on Sept. 29. At the event, you will be able to see more fall trends in hair and makeup, as well as fall fashions from The Dressing Room and Kid to Kid. There will also be music by DJ RobCee, drinks, and appetizers. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7:15 pm.
For the past five years, Spicer Brothers Construction has been giving away a new roof to one deserving individual here on Delmarva. Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have affected millions of people. The widespread devastation caused by these hurricanes has prompted Sherwood Automotive’s Rising Tide program to ask you to help us provide financial donations for the youngest victims of these storms. To make this happen, Sherwood Automotive has teamed up with WBOC’s Bless Our Children campaign. Every cent you donate to the Bless Our Children program through September will go directly to charities helping children affected by these disasters. To donate, go here.
