A local middle school group is helping local troops. The Seaford Builders Club is hosting a care package drive for the 198th Expeditionary Signal Battalion of the Delaware Army National Guard that recently deployed. You can drop off donations on October 5th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Seaford High School.
For 13 years, Hope and Life Outreach, or HALO has provided a warm place for the homeless to lay their head, a warm meal, and services to help individuals get back on their feet. Now, it’s HALO that could use some help, as the group strives to “Build a Foundation of Hope.”
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Ink and Lash Shop in Millsboro is donating 3D areola tattoos to breast cancer survivors through a letter-writing contest.

When most of us look back on our teens years, we have fond memories. For Phillip Hartman of Laurel, many memories were made in a hospital room. After being plagued with constant back pain, Phillip was diagnosed with Thoracic Sclerosis, a severe curvature of the spine. Surgery was necessary to prevent problems with his heart and breathing. The surgery caused complication and left Phillip paralyzed from the waste down. Phillip and his mother, Faith, talk about how faith and a lot of hard work got him back on his feet again.
