What’s Happening Today – October 2, 2020
Today on DelmarvaLife
The day that WBOC got the Chopper was an exciting day. Along with the chopper came the pilot. Little did we know, that pilot would become such a delightful and important part of our family. Captain Willie Dykes joined our team in 2015 and quickly became, not only a colleague, but a friend. But, today we’re saying “so long” as he moves into the next phase of his life – retirement. We celebrate Captain Willie’s career today.
We witnessed an incredible moment last year when Rebecca Kennedy of Westover was gifted a brand new bathroom curtesy of our friends at Herl’s Bath and Home Solutions. It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year again! And if you want Herl’s to come knocking on your door, you’ve got to act fast. Katie recently visited the showroom in Salisbury to explain.
If you’re looking for a best friend, we’ve got some sweet faces ready to go to their fur-ever homes. Check out all the cuties in Pet Connect.
On this show, we’re here to help you grab life by the horns and live it to the fullest, even if we’re in the midst of a pandemic. Perhaps all of this has you just itchin’ to travel. But, the restrictions. We’re going to let you in on a way you can feel like you’re in France – when you’re really just in Dover. Katie takes us inside La Baguette Bakery and Catering. We’re also staying at the bakery to not only hear about their big wins – but they’re also showing off their fall inspired dessert! Hint: there’s pumpkin, there’s apple, there’s cream cheese.
For the last 15 years, Captain Willie Dykes has brought so much good to WBOC. We’ve enjoyed giving you just a small glimpse as we’ve looked back over the last few days. Even though it was a difficult week saying goodbye, it was also a week filled with so much good. A week filled with sincere, sweet, and of course, silly moments. Check out “All That is Good.”
