What’s Happening Today – Oct. 19, 2016
Today on DelmarvaLife:
Home and Life Outreach, or HALO, recently put out the word that they need items to continue to feed approximately 200 guests daily. Those items include things that you may already have in your pantry such as spaghetti, pasta sauce, tea bags, cans of green beans and gravy. You can drop off your donations at HALO on Snow Hill Rd. in Salisbury. For directions and a complete list of items, go here.
Sean visits local woodworker, George Collinson, who used to drive dump trucks and backhoes for a living. Now George hand carves the trucks he drove and paints them. He has a story behind each piece of art he makes out of wood and we hear all about him and his talent today.
Dr. Chris Snyder with Peninsula Regional Medical Center joins us for another “Ask the Doc” segment. Viewers have sent in questions about bursitis relief, feet falling asleep, heart fluttering, night sweats, and turning to the Internet when they do not feel well. Be sure to tune in to hear what the doctor has to say.
Mayor Bob Willey of Easton joins us as we get to know the man and not just the mayor. We learn about Bob’s membership in the Easton Volunteer Fire Company, the rivalry between Cambridge and Easton, and play a game of cornhole confessions.
The Sussex County Association of Realtors helps us to avoid making first-time home buyer mistakes. They’re helping simplify the, sometimes overwhelming, home-buying process.
It’s not every day you get the chance to win a brand new roof for your home. It’s all thanks to Spicer Brothers Construction‘s Delmarva’s Neediest Roof Contest. The winner will receive a new Gaf Limited Lifetime Roofing System. Enter here.
If you’re playing in our High School Football Showdown, be sure to get your picks in and keep checking the leader board to see where you rank among the competition. If you haven’t registered to play yet, it’s not too late! Enter here. Each correct prediction accumulates points and the highest scoring player will have the chance to win a trophy delivered to you by WBOC Sports Director, Matt Pencek, in Chopper 16.
