What’s Happening Today – Nov. 28, 2016
Today on DelmarvaLife:
Cystinosis is a rare disease with no cure. According to cystinosisresearch.org, ‘Cystinosis is a metabolic disease in which the amino acid cystine gets into the cells, but has no transporter out. Because of the defect in transportation, the cell crystallizes causing early cell death. Cystinosis slowly destroys the organs in the body including the kidneys, liver, eyes, muscles and the brain.’ 11-year-old Chandler Moore is living with Cystinosis, and him and his dad join us today to share their story and mention their upcoming fundraiser event. The event is Dec. 3 from 5:30 pm – 9 pm in Georgetown. Activities will be free and donations are appreciated.

Not every child on Delmarva is fortunate enough to get Christmas gifts. That’s where WBOC’s Bless Our Children Campaign makes a difference. Our goal is to get enough money to local charities so they can buy a present for every child in need here on Delmarva. If you would like to donate and help, send your card and donation to Bless Our Children in Care of WBOC, 1729 N. Salisbury Blvd. 21801 or you can donate online at wboc.com.
