What’s Happening Today – Nov. 27, 2018
Today on DelmarvaLife:
Hundreds turned out to say goodbye to Salisbury Master Police Officer, Aaron “Bull” Hudson. Bull died unexpectedly last week. Salisbury Mayor Jake Day is asking people to help Bull’s family with end-of-life expenses. Donate by clicking here.
A familiar sound this time of year – bell ringing. You’re seeing the famous Salvation Army red kettles all over Delmarva right now with a friendly face standing by, grateful for any donation you can spare. The Red Kettle Campaign is only part of the Salvation Army’s efforts to give back this time of year. 102.5 WBOC’s Corey Phoebus stopped by the Salvation Army’s Salisbury location to learn more about its life-changing programs.
There is an upcoming wreath laying ceremony that shows gratitude for our country’s heroes coming up on Dec. 13. Perdue‘s Director of Transportation, Tim O’Hea, and Perdue Driver, Keith Clark, join us in Historic Studio D to tell us all about how you can be a part of this event as a way to say “thank you.” There is also an Operation Teddy Bear event on Dec. 1 where Perdue drivers deliver a little holiday cheer to the residents of Holly Center in Salisbury by providing them rides in their big rigs.
Marilyn Monroe said it best: diamonds are a girl’s best friend. When it comes to gift giving, you can’t go wrong with diamonds, or any other jewelry for that matter. Lisa recently stopped by Robinson’s Family of Businesses to see how their jewelers work some magic to create pieces that will become a treasure for anyone on your gift-giving list.
The colder months are coming, but despite what you may think, that doesn’t mean you have to spend those months cooped up inside a cold, dark house. You can spend those days on your porch and it’s all thanks to Porch Protection Systems. We’re getting a lesson on how it’s made.
Delmarva is not short of residents and families of diverse backgrounds. With more people comes a surge of different kinds of businesses that make this area even that much more unique. DelmarvaLife’s Sydney Whitfield got to visit one of Delmarva’s newest Mexican restaurants located in Salisbury, El Primo Taquerias.
We always look forward to The Reminders annual appearance on the Mid South Audio Stage. They sing about the reason for the season. They perform “When Comes This Time of the Year” and “If God Wrote a Love Song.”
