What’s Happening Today – Nov. 13, 2017
Today on DelmarvaLife:
It is World Kindness Day! Studies show when others observes kindness in action, they are more likely to carry out an act of kindness too. Kindness filled the streets of Salisbury yesterday.
The Second Annual Dance for Kindness in Downtown Salisbury was a huge success. Several dancers participated in a world-wide freezemob and flashmob. Check out our live video from yesterday of the event here.
We also have another list of “Most Wanted Monday” from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office. If you recognized anyone featured on today’s list and call in a tip to Crime Solvers of the Lower Eastern Shore, it could mean money in your pocket. The Delaware State Police also sent us their Most Wanted list and you can check that out here.
Join YMCA of the Chesapeake at one of six Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K locations on Maryland’s Eastern Shore – Queenstown, Ridgely, Easton, Salisbury, Pocomoke City, or Chincoteague, Va. Check out all the information for the 5K locations here. The 5K’s begin at 8:30 am on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23. DelmarvaLife’s Sydney Whitfield stops by the Richard A. Henson Family YMCA to learn more about this upcoming event and how you can be a part of it.
We’ve all been there. Going through the collection of remotes to see which one actually changes the channel and turns up the volume on the TV. In a span of a couple of decades, we’ve gone from having to get up out of our seat to turn the dial on the TV to having as many as four remotes to control each of the components that are hooked up to our TV. With Xfinity from Comcast, you only need one remote, one button and your voice. Lisa shows us how it works today.
With Thanksgiving a little more than a week away, you might be thinking about where you are going to eat your feast. If you’re not up for cooking it yourself, you might want to head to The Palace in Milford, Del. Lisa recently stopped by the restaurant to see what’s new.
It was a little less than a year ago when Enzo Vincent walked into Historic Studio D and told us all about his plans to help others by way of a pajama drive. Enzo is back at it and we welcome him back to the studio with his mom today. Last year, Enzo collected over 300 pairs of pajamas for Delaware children. This year, he hopes to collect even more.
