Teacher Appreciation Day
It’s National Teacher Appreciation Day and this is National Teacher Appreciation Week. In his proclamation, President Barack Obama said, “I call upon students, parents, and all Americans to recognize the hard work and dedication of our nation’s teachers, and to observe this day and this week by supporting teachers.” The National Education Association is encouraging you to show your support of teachers in a variety of ways including a picture of yourself with your favorite teacher – past or present, a picture of your child with his or her teacher, a picture of yourself holding a piece of paper with a simple message saying thank you to a teacher and why you’re thanking him or her.
Walk for Freedom at Salisbury University
It’s probably safe to say, most of us are guilty of hanging on to something we’d love to be able to let go of. It could be guilt, anxiety, or depression. For a lot of people, that thing they just can’t shake is addiction. Coty Lineweaver and Julia Kitchen with 3CUSA stop by to share their story of how addiction and depression has impacted them. The Walk for Freedom is Saturday, May 7, from 1 pm – 3 pm at Salisbury University. The event will end with a service with guest speakers from all around Delmarva. Coty Lineweaver also raps for us in the DelmarvaLife studio!
Iris Show at Talbot County Library
The Iris plant gets its name from the Greek goddess of the rainbow whose name is “Iris.” Bayshore Iris Society’s President, Pat McNeal, tells us about an upcoming Iris show on Friday, May 6 at Talbot County Library from 2 pm – 4 pm. The event is free!

Canned Salmon Salad
- 1 can canned salmon with bones
- 1/3 cup each Chopped celery, onions, and carrots
- ½ tsp Old Bay or seasoning salt
- ¼ tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
- ¼ cup slivered almonds
