What’s Happening Today – May 29, 2019
Today on DelmarvaLife –
Hurricane season begins this weekend, and it’s best to be prepared. Matt Odachowski, the owner of Royal Plus, Inc, has seen situations where people have not been prepared. Today, he talks about the importance of having an emergency kit and what you need to include in it.
Moving into a new home is always exciting. That’s one of the many reasons the team with the Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity is holding a grand opening and ribbon cutting at their new location in Dover. We sent WBOC’s Heidi Werosta to get in on the excitement.
Get ready to hear the sound of freedom over Delmarva. The National Air Tour of Historic World War II Aircraft is coming to the Salisbury Regional Airport June 3-5. Click here for more information.
We love when we get word of “princess tea parties,” not only because they are what dreams are made of for many little girls, but because they support so many great causes around Delmarva. Today, we learn about the princess tea party for Believe in Tomorrow. The party is Sunday, June 2nd, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the Salisbury Elks Lodge.
Matt Pencek and Madeleine Overturf have been familiar faces on WBOC for years, but they will soon be familiar faces on our new sister station, WRDE. They joins us to talk about the big changes coming to the NBC affiliate, including the switch to having local news delivered by local anchors. We’ll also learn why Madeleine has even more to celebrate!
Scorchers like the days we’ve been having, and will be having, call for cool, refreshing and light flavors. Today, Chef Tom Kramer with Lefty’s Alley and Eats in Lewes shows us how to put together a summer cucumber dip. He’s also telling us about tomorrow night’s Top Chef of the Culinary Coast to benefit Meals on Wheels DE in Rehoboth Beach.
