What’s Happening Today – May 23, 2016
Today on DelmarvaLife:
Just days after James M. Bennett High School released its 2016 Lip Dub, two of the many people responsible for organizing the video, join us on the couches. Find out what goes into making a video like that, and why this year’s lip dub was so special.
Today, we kick off a new series entitled “Driving with Docs.” It’s exactly what it sounds like it is. Jimmy gets the privilege of driving Peninsula Regional Medical Center doctors to work. First on the lineup – Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dr. Kurt Wehberg. It’s a fun way to really learn more about the man behind the surgical mask.
We also learn about Wicomico County Drug Treatment Court. Hear how this program helps to rehabilitate those who’ve been arrested on drug charges, so they don’t go back to that lifestyle.
WBOC Chief Meteorologist Dan Satterfield joins us on the couches to talk about the disappearing Delmarva shoreline. You’ve probably heard about rising sea levels. Dan tells us what that means for our precious peninsula in the long run. Plus, Delmarva has certainly seen its share of severe storms. Dan and Laraine Buck, deputy director of emergency services for Wicomico County, tell us how to make sure we’re ready when severe weather strikes.
