What’s Happening Today – May 18, 2016
Wednesday on DelmarvaLife:
A mid-week musical performance! The Worship Team from Salisbury Christian School joins us to perform two cover songs they’ve been working on as part of their upcoming album. The first song is “Rooftops,” by Jesus Culture. The second song is “Relentless,” by Hillsong.
WBOC Sports Director Matt Pencek joins Jimmy on the couches to talk about time he spent with athletes playing in the upcoming Blue Gold All-Star Game. It’s a widely popular event put on by the Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities (DFRC.) Matt will introduce us to this year’s Gold All Star, Justin Haggerty. You’ll hear how DFRC programs make a difference in the lives of those with intellectual disabilities.
DelmarvaLife’s Sean Streicher visits two forests on Delmarva that provide a place for people to have fun and conduct research. The forests also pump a lot of money into the local economy. The land makes up the Chesapeake and Pocomoke State Forests.
If you’re looking for a way to protect yourself or your family, you may want to visit Larry’s Trading Post in West Ocean City. Lisa stops by the shop to show us the options available when it comes to arming yourself with protection.
Sean also previews the second annual Meatball-Con, which takes place at Mispillion River Brewing in Milford. The event is billed as “a celebration of all forms of balled up meat.” Yes, it’s one you don’t want to miss!
Plus, we announce two more winners in the DelmarvaLife Countdown to Summer Giveaway, and one lucky viewer will also pick up a family four pack of tickets to the annual Hebron Fireman’s Carnival!
