Today on DelmarvaLife –
Earlier this week, members of Team 360 participated in the torch run for Special Olympics, Maryland. It was an exciting time for this group of athletes with different abilities and their “wingmen” who help them cross the finish line at mainstream running events. We learn more about Team 360 from its president, Jill Fears; and athlete, Elijah Palmer.
You can now order invisible teeth aligners online, but should you? We visit with Dr. James Crouse of the Brace Place in Salisbury and Easton to see why, he says, getting orthodontic care online may end up costing you more in the long run.
It’s been more than 150 years since President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation freeing all slaves. It’s an event that will be celebrated next weekend in Georgetown. We learn more about the Juneteenth celebration from the chairperson of the event, Jane Hovington; and coordinator Paula Roberts. The annual Juneteenth Celebration will be held Saturday, June 15, 11 a.m. at the Richard Allen School, 316 S. Railroad Avenue, Georgetown, with the parade beginning at 10 a.m.
We turn the Mid South Audio Stage to a herb garden as Gardening Expert Ginny Rosenkranz with the University of Maryland Extension Office shows us the many herbs we can plant in our own herb garden. She also talks about how different herbs can be used in our everyday life. Ginny also answers viewer gardening questions.
