What’s Happening Today – June 20, 2019
Today on DelmarvaLife –
On Monday, a Dover nurse became a local hero when he jumped into the Wicomico River to save the driver of a car that plunged into the water. Andrew Nunn is an LPN at Anchorage Nursing Home in Salisbury. He joins us today to give us a play-by-play of the rescue.
The 2nd Annual Seagull Circuit Race is a month away. This is an event where cyclists hit speeds of up to 30 mile-per-hour in a race around Salisbury City Park. One of the organizers of the event, Alex McRae talks with us today about why this is an event that spectators don’t want to miss. Click here for more information.
Does someone in your house need some pampering? Perhaps they need a clean cut, a freshly washed coat, or maybe they are in need of some manners when you have guests over. We, of course, are talking about your dog. Today, we learn about Cathy’s Pet Salon and Doggie Daycare. It’s a one-stop-shop that can take care of all of your pet’s needs.
It’s summertime, the perfect time to spend these beautiful days and nights outside, at home. Creating a comfy and inviting space in your backyard is what Fancy Cutz can do. DelmarvaLife’s Katie Zarrilli visited one of their completed jobs to see the many options you have, whether your space is big or small.
Since 2015, we have been following the evolution of the Camden Community Garden in Salisbury. Pastor Martin Hutchison of Salisbury came up with the idea and, with the help of the community, the project has grown into what it is today. We get an update on the garden and the Summer Lunch in the Garden program. Pastor Martin also shows us how to make a delicious fresh squash, onion, and potato dish. Recipe below. Enjoy!
