What’s Happening Today – June 16, 2016
Today on DelmarvaLife:
It’s another round of “Ask the Doc!” Dr. Chris Snyder, hospitalist and chief informatics officer with Peninsula Regional Medical Center, joins us to answer viewers’ medical questions that they may be a bit too bashful to ask their own doctor. No topic is off limits! If you ever have a question, feel free to email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. You will remain anonymous!
Think back to Cuba, 1963, when families were living under Fidel Castro’s Communist regime. Dr. Ileana Smith, vice president and campus director at Delaware Technical Community College was there (she was 10 years old at the time.) She’ll share her story of how she and her family were able to escape. Dr. Smith will also tell us about her return trip to Cuba, and why dozens of her colleagues came along with her.
We introduce Delmarva to Lily Carson, a third grade student at Ocean City Elementary School. Lily recently won first place in the third grade division of the National Garden Club‘s Poetry Contest. Lily will not only share the inspiration behind her poem, but she’ll recite it for us, too! Congratulations, Lily!
Sean is at the Firefly Music Festival. He’s having fun with festival goers, by testing their knowledge of the bands that will be performing this weekend. Oh yeah, there’s pie involved! See what Sean is getting into, today at 5 pm!
Hope you enjoy the show!
