What’s Happening Today – July 6, 2018
Today on DelmarvaLife:
Reading, writing, arithmetic – they’re all basic skills that most of us learn during our years in school. But what happens when, for whatever reason, those lessons aren’t something that stick? That’s when a program called, “Project READ” can help. We sit down with two “READ” representatives who tell us how this program is changing adults’ lives.
Georgetown Middle School Teacher, Christa Ferdig plays a huge role in helping our youth learn how to read, write and sharpen their math skills – and her efforts have just been rewarded in a huge way. Christa recently received a presidential award and she stops by the studio to tell us all about the award, and we pick her brain about the upcoming school year.
If there’s something that always holds true about Suicide Bridge Restaurant, it’s that they’re always keeping it fresh! Whether it’s fresh seafood or fresh, fun boat tours. They always offer the best! DelmarvaLife’s Sydney Whitfield stopped by to get an update on this summer’s excitement.
We’re introducing you to several furry friends in today’s Pet Connect. Looking for a dog, cat – maybe a rooster! You’ll have to tune in today to see which cutie you want to adopt!
Neal Hooks and the Pocomoke Sound are busy recording another album, but they took a break from the recording studio and stopped by the Mid South Audio Stage to help rock us into the weekend.
Have you heard that one of the hottest country music singers on the scene is coming to Delmarva? Jake Owen is performing at Hudson Fields in Milton on July 18. Listen to win your tickets on Chesapeake County 106.3! Or if you’d like to purchase tickets of your own, go here.
We continue our giveaways in the 2018 DelmarvaLife Summer Guide. We announce four winners today. Will you be one of them?
