We don’t have to tell you it’s hot. You know it’s hot. It’s summertime. You probably already know that heat like this can be pretty dangerous, but do you know how dangerous or how to know if someone is in danger from serious health issues because of the hot weather? We talk with Gail Lemay, Clinical Quality Specialist in the Emergency Department of PRMC, about some of the dangers you may not even be aware of and how to help those who may be in danger.
We already know that heat for a human can be dangerous, but what about your pets? We all know that pets can get overheated, but what about some of the other lesser known dangers? We talk with Executive Director of Talbot Humane, Patty Quimby, about how to help our pets and how picket fences are saving those little guys who may be in a shelter.
It’s “Wellness Wednesday” and we’re highlighting how the Worcester County Health Department is using partnerships to help folks battle addiction and put them on the road to recovery. It seems this summer that the human-horse interaction at Assateague has taken a turn. Remember the video of the woman getting kicked? Or the guy riding the horse? These are just two examples as to why the Assateague Island National Seashore is calling for two horse management interns. Today, we talk with Ashlie Kozlowski, Outreach Coordinator with the Assateague Island Alliance, about the importance of taking precautions with these wild animals.

Weeknight Pesto Chicken will take the stress right out of dinner time. This simple recipe is made up of simple ingredients, but packs a lot of delicious flavor. Check out the recipe below:
What You’ll Need
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup pesto
- 4 slices tomato
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
What to Do
- Sprinkle chicken evenly with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil; saute chicken 8 to 10 minutes, turning once during cooking.
- Place a slice of cheese over each chicken breast, spoon 2 tablespoons pesto over cheese, and top each with a tomato slice. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese evenly over top.
- Cover skillet and heat 2 to 4 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink in center and cheese is melted.
