What’s Happening Today – July 13, 2018
Today on DelmarvaLife –
Let’s face it, we’re all getting older. As we age, our needs and capabilities change. Today we’re learning about, The Worcester County Commission on Aging, a group that offers support for seniors. They do chores like providing meals, allocating home repairs, even transportation. If you’d like to contact the commision, their phone number is 410-632-1277.
We’re also tackling the topic of glaucoma. It’s a disease that could cause vision loss if it progresses. Today, we’re learning about advancements in treating glaucoma provided by Chesapeake Eye Center in Salisbury. They’re promising enough that local doctor Catherine Smoot-Haselnus, M.D. is just downright excited!
Superintendent of Parks and Recreation in Seaford, Katie Hickey is telling us all about the excitement happening at the 24th Annual Nanticoke Riverfest in Seaford. It will be boats and floats galore, making their way down the winding Nanticoke river! Don’t forget, Delmarvalife’s Lauren Hitch is judging the Little Miss Riverfest and Junior Miss Riverfest this year. Riverfest will be held on Saturday, July 14 from 9 am to 9 pm at High Street in Seaford. The events will last all day.
The Band “Crvsh” joins us on the Mid South Audio stage. Their putting on a show you’re not going to want to miss as they play two original songs for us. Let’s get this weekend rocking!
