What’s Happening Today – Jan. 6, 2017
Today on DelmarvaLife:
A recent discovery at Cape Henlopen State Park is fueling our history lesson today. Jim Hall, chief of cultural resources at Delaware State Parks, joins us to tell us about the mine cases from WW2 that were recently discovered.
Randy Lee Ashcraft and his wife Lisa join us on the couches to tell us about something that is near and dear to their hears – the Fisher House Foundation. Fisher House offers free lodging to military and veterans family members so they can remain with their loved ones who need specialized medical care at medical centers around the world. Since 1990, Fisher House has saved families $320 million. The community can help give back to our soldiers by attending an upcoming event on Jan. 15 at Johnny’s Pizza and Pub in Ocean City. The event is from 2 pm – 6 pm, $10 at the door, and Randy Lee Ashcraft and other bands will be performing.
The British Invasion Experience takes us back to the 60’s today! They’re performing “I Want to Hold Your Hand” by the Beatles and “All of the Day All of the Night” by The Kinks. They have an event coming up on Jan. 14 – The British Invasion Experience Dinner Theatre. The event is at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center. Dinner is at 5:30 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. Tickets are $40 and include dinner and a show. Follow the British Invasion Experience on Facebook to see their upcoming shows.
