Snowy Owl Sighting at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, What You Need to Know (Photo: Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge)
There’s a lot of wildlife here on Delmarva. When visiting local state parks in the off-season, be sure to look for animals you might not see everyday, such as the snowy owl.
Biological Science Technician, Matthew Young, and Park Ranger, Aubrey Hall, with the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, join us in the studio to tell us all about the snowy owl sighting. Aubrey and Matt remind us that if you spot a snowy owl to keep a respectful distance to avoid scaring the bird. Also, they say it’s best to remain quiet and move in “slow motion.” Learn more here.
Public speaking is a fear many people have. Michele Canopii from Delmarva Toastmasters in Salisbury and Kathy Miles from Southern Delaware Toastmasters in Georgetown join us to help us out and give us some public speaking pointers.
Chef Thomas O’Neill from Suicide Bridge Restaurant helps us put a spin on oysters. We’re making buffalo fried oysters in the DelmarvaLife kitchen today.

On Friday, the Presidential Inauguration festivities took a little longer than planned. So you may have only got a few minutes to listen to our Friday band, Silhouette Song. Therefore, we are giving you a re-cap of Silhouette Song performing two originals. Enjoy!
