Greenwood Elementary School in Princess Anne has an after-school program that teaches fourth and fifth graders how to cook. We learn about the program and how to make Pizza Bagel Paninis.
Here’s the recipe:
2 slices of Bread, or Bagel cut in half
Pizza sauce, for the bread,
Cooking Spray for the sandwich maker
1 slice mozzarella cheese (or you can use shredded)
1-3 slices of peperoni
You can add anything else you would like, Italian spices, etc.
1 Plug in and warm up your sandwich press. Check with an adult first. Spray both sides of the sandwich maker with cooking spray.
2 Brush one side with pizza sauce of each slice of bagel or bread.
3 Place one bagel slice, pizza side up on the griddle.
4 Add the cheese, peperoni and other items. Top with the second slice of bread, pizza sauce side down.
5 close the press and cook until the cheese melts. (Some sandwich presses have a light that turns on when the sandwich is ready) you can check.
6 Take off press carefully, place on plate and cut in half or quarters.
Eat and enjoy.
