What’s Happening Today – Feb. 15, 2017
Today on DelmarvaLife:
As February rolls on, we continue our mission to educate you during American Heart Month. Last week, we talked about heart attack symptoms. So this week, PRMC joins us to talk about getting your heart into shape. Caroline Farrell is a clinical exercise physiologist with PRMC and she tells us all about cardiac rehab and how it helps strengthen your heart.
There is an upcoming race planned but it’s not at a large racetrack such as the Monster Mile in Dover or the US 13 Dragway and Speedway in Delmar. This event is taking place in a school gymnasium. The 5th Annual Pinewood Derby Winter Classic at Epworth Christian School in Laurel is on Feb. 23. Sean stops by to learn more about the event.
Community-based programs are a great way for kids to get involved, learn some valuable skills and have a little fun along the way. Our guests today include members of the 4-H Club. Chef Carley Croll is in the Sunset Branch 4-H and Dana Probert, club leader, join us to teach us how to make pork dumplings. We also learn about the Favorite Foods Competition this week and another part of the competition is setting the table. Kieran and Liam Probert show us how to set the table for certain meals.
