What’s Happening Today – December 21, 2020
Today on DelmarvaLife –
What is it about a train choo-choo’ing along under a Christmas tree that takes the holiday to the next level? You can see what we mean with a visit to Pocomoke. We talk with President of the Pocomoke Area Model Train Club, Paul Becker, about the Pocomoke Train Garden at the Delmarva Discovery Museum.
Perhaps we’re all dreaming of a white Christmas – in a different sense. Instead of snow, how about teeth that shine as brightly as fallen snow? A big step in getting there? Having the proper toothbrush. Katie visits Dr. Leigh Auchey of Delmarva Dental Services to learn about the advantages of an electric toothbrush.
It’s Most Wanted Monday. Lt. Tim Robinson of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office shows us the pictures of six fugitives. Any information that leads to their arrest could mean money in your pocket.
You turn on the heat when it gets cold enough. It hasn’t been turned on in months. You smell something burning. What do you do? We get that question answered by Vice President of A&A Companies, Mindy Allen-Townsend.
A piece of jewelry says a lot about someone. So, when you’re looking for the perfect piece, it’s important to trust the person who can provide it. We meet just the duo: Kyle Bounds and his wife, Kate of Kyle Edward Fine Jewelry.
In today’s Monday Memory, we go back to the days when performers would visit us on the Mid South Audio Stage, to help us get into the holiday spirit. First up, The Wilcox Trio and “Carol of the Bells.” Then, Sarah Miller performing, “Oh Holy Night.”
Frosty the Cheese Ball is a unique take on a party-favorite appetizer. Not only is he delicious but he gets quite a personality when you dress him up. With just a little imagination and a few veggies, Frosty is guaranteed to be loved by all. Check out the recipe below:
What You’ll Need
- 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 (3-ounce) container real bacon bits
- 1 1/4 cups finely chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 scallions, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon prepared white horseradish
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
What to Do
- In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients; mix well.

- Serve, or cover and chill until ready to serve.
It’s fun to garnish this with sliced black olives for the eyes and mouth, a baby carrot for the nose, red bell pepper triangles for buttons, and pretzel sticks for arms, but feel free to use any of your favorite edible delights.

If you’d like to donate, send us a card with a check to 1729 North Salisbury Blvd, Salisbury, MD, 21801 or donate online at blessourchildren.org. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for giving such a difficult year.
