Lisa’s husband, Bob Bryant, joins us in the DelmarvaLife kitchen to show us how to make a family favorite, sausage balls.
Ingredients
1-pound of ground pork sausage (I prefer “HOT”)
2-Cups biscuit baking mix
1-pound sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
In a large bowl, combine sausage, biscuit baking mix and cheese into a well-mixed and moist ball.
SUGGESTION: If you are using a mixing machine, mix the biscuit baking mix and sausage first, then add the shredded Cheddar Cheese. The mixing machine tends to mash the shredded Cheddar Cheese.
From the finished ball, pick enough mix to roll in your hands a walnut size ball and place balls on baking sheet.
Bake in oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown and sausage is cooked through.
Pre-cooked sausage balls and can frozen and the reheated at the same 350 degree for 10 minutes or in a microwave.
