What’s Happening Today – Dec. 7, 2016
Today on DelmarvaLife:
The Northrop Grumman Foundation is making five grants to public middle schools for fabulous school lab makeovers, and you can help a local school receive one of those grants. Salisbury Middle School in Wicomico County is one of five schools you can vote for today. Anytime today, and today only, you can go to the Fab School Labs Page and vote for Salisbury Middle School. There’s even a short video showing the school’s lab as it is now. Salisbury Middle School is the only school on the shore running for one of the five lab makeovers and they are one of 25 semi-finalists. Vote here to give Salisbury Middle School a chance at winning one of the $100,000 STEM Science Makeover Grant.

Delmarva author, Pat McKelvey joins us in the studio today to talk about the children’s books she has written. Her favorite topics to write about are life lessons she experienced in her own life. Last month, her book “The Treasure” was released and she tells us more about that as well. Pat also reads to children around Delmarva.
Today, we’re doing our own version of show and tell – DelmarvaLife style. WBOC’s Charles Paparella brought in many books about the Delmarva Peninsula that hold rich pieces of history. Charlie also sings some holiday tunes with the DelmarvaLife team and our studio audience. Be sure to tune in at 5 pm to sing along!

Not every child on Delmarva is fortunate enough to get Christmas gifts. That’s where WBOC’s Bless Our Children Campaign makes a difference. Our goal is to get enough money to local charities so they can buy a present for every child in need here on Delmarva. If you would like to donate and help, send your card and donation to Bless Our Children in Care of WBOC, 1729 N. Salisbury Blvd. 21801 or you can donate online at wboc.com.
