What’s Happening Today – August 28, 2019
Today on DelmarvaLife –
Every fall, over 55 million children across the United States head back to school. With 13 percent of those children typically walking or biking to their classes, AAA warns drivers to be especially vigilant for pedestrians before and after school hours. We get some important reminders on how to we can help keep kids safe.
What do you get when you combine two powerful community resources working together towards one goal? You get a solid program that can benefit everyone on Delmarva. We learn about the Health and Wellness Literacy Collection and other programs offered by the Wicomico County Library and the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore.
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore presents the Art Faculty Exhibit. The exhibition creates an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and the greater Delmarva community to enjoy the creative new output of the campus’ visual artists.
We all love a good bike ride, don’t we? But maybe you’re older and thinking it’s time to retire the wheels. Think again. Have you ever considered a three-wheeled bicycle, or adult tricycle? DelmarvaLife’s Katie Zarrilli rolls over to Salisbury Cycle and Fitness to check them out.
Do you know someone who has a birthday or wedding anniversary coming up? A great way to celebrate is with a DelmarvaLife Occasion. Submit your occasion here.
