Today on DelmarvaLife:
With ten miles of beautiful beach, it’s no wonder that millions of people make their way to Ocean City each summer. Keeping all those people safe is a job the Ocean City Beach Patrol takes very seriously, but for the nearly 130 lifeguards that are assigned to 76 stands along the beach, the job is about more than keeping a close eye on the water. OCBP Capt. Butch Arbin stops by to give us a better understanding of a lifeguard’s duties. He’ll also give us a lesson on what it means when lifeguards wave flags at each other down the beach.
Turning a vision into reality — The Delaware Botanic Gardens are just about ready for the public. We’ll learn more about what it is, and why this project is so important to Delmarva.
Would you agree with the statement that everyone is an artist in his or her own way? This weekend, you have an opportunity to show off that artistic expression. It’s all going down in Ocean City at Art X. While art is at the core of the event, there’s so much more to do. We’ll learn more about it.
We sit down with a Chincoteague man who was out on his boat and came across something he never imagined – a whale shark! Captain Brian Esteppe stops by to discuss the wild boat ride!
We also “reel in” another angler. Tommy Hinkle, of Ocean City, is a record-setting angler. He won the White Marlin Open twice! He’ll tell us about what it took to reel in the big one, and what his future holds now.
