WBOC Chief Meteorologist Dan Satterfield has always loved photography, and now, he’s taken his love to a whole new level with megapixel photography. Dan explains what it is and shows us some of his stunning work.
The arrest of singer R. Kelly on charges of sexually abusing dozens of women and young girls is just one of several high-profile cases we’ve seen in the media over the past couple of years. Although Kelly denies the charges, it has people talking, and that’s important. It wasn’t too long ago that many survivors of sexual violence didn’t speak out for fear of no one believing them, or being told it was their fault. “Take Back the Night” is a global movement to change that. Trauma Therapist with Life Crisis Center, Dee Copeland talks about a local “Take Back the Night” event Thursday, April 18th at 6:30 in Holloway Hall at Salisbury University.
If you like dropping a line for rockfish, then you already know that Saturday is the opening day of the Maryland Striped Bass Trophy Season. Fish anywhere from ten to 40 pounds are reeled in during the championship season, but some have set the hook in fish over 50 pounds. You can keep one a day as long as it’s 35-inches or over. There’s an outside chance that Virginia may cancel their season because of low fish counts.
The beauty of Maryland’s Coastal Bays cannot be denied. The Assawoman Bay in Ocean City is one of five in the state of Maryland. It is the mission of the Maryland Coastal Bays program to make sure those bays are preserved for many lifetimes ahead. Lize Wist, the education coordinator with the Maryland Coastal Bays program joins us to talk about an event called Bay Day in Ocean Pines which is Sunday, May 5th from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at White Horse Park in Ocean Pines.
You may want to add your medicine cabinet to your spring cleaning list. Tisha Donovan, Peninsula Home Care at Nanticoke, Hospital Liaison tells us why medication management is so important and why you should inspect your prescription drugs on a regular basis.
We all have those times when we look at our vehicle and think of ways it could be better. 102.5, WBOC’s Corey Phoebus stopped by Gateway Subaru and has found, quite possibly, the vehicle that has it all.
We are in the Kirby and Holloway Kitchen with Chef Daniel Mears of The Rabbit Hole and Mad Hatter Cafe in Salisbury to learn how to make pancakes with fresh fruit and lemon ricotta.
