Noah Bennett is suing Lumber Liquidators because after they tested his floor, there were high levels of formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is an ingredient in cheap glue that helps bind laminate pieces together. Experts say that it can cause breathing problems, and even cancer.
Within days after installing the floor, Noah says his family developed breathing problems and infections. After seeing the 60 Minutes investigation, he ordered tests on the floor suspecting the floors were the reason behind his families illnesses.
Lumber Liquidators is still selling the laminate flooring and is offering to do independent air quality tests if you are concerned with your flooring. If high levels of formaldehyde is detected, they will consider replacing the floor at no cost.
