Gardening Expert Ginny Rosenkranz from the
University of Maryland explains that winter is the perfect time to fill your garden and yard with colorful winter berries. Of course during this season it’s too cold to grow flowers to make your yard look pretty, but instead of flowers Rosenkranz suggest putting winter berries in the yard to get the same effect as flowers.
There are 3 different types of holly berries:
- 1. Winterberry (red and orange)
- 2. Beautyberry (purple)
- 3. Fosterberry (green)
These berries can also be used as bird feed to wild birds in your community and the way to keep these berries growing is water them when the weather is really dry. They survive off of water and sunlight.
