For high school athletes, senior year is very special time. For some, it’s the last time they will ever play, like, Brendon Weber. It’s last ‘hoo-rah’ before playing in college. Brendon tore his MLC, ACL, and meniscus – injuries that are now all too common in youth athletes.
Dr. Alfred Atanda Jr, Orthopedic Surgeon at A.I. Dupont. He specializes in sports related injuries and says with the thought of college scholarships, or high paying professional contracts playing in parents and athletes heads, seasonal sports are turning into an all year around sport.
What is supposed to be helping a young athlete could be hurting them in the long run.
