Whether you’re planning a wedding, birthday party, fundraiser or retirement party, you want it to be special. It can be very stressful for the person throwing the party. You have to think about the venue, caterer, entertainment, and decorations – or you can Ask Angie Gillis and her team at Encore Events to help you out. It all starts with a conversation.
“I have to get an understanding of their personality and what they would like for their special day,” Angie says. “There are people that stick to the themes and I’m more out of the box so I’m more focused on the persons personality and exactly what they love and what they want to see happen on their special day. Because there are no two days that are alike because there are no two people that are like.”
From there, Angie and her right hand woman Jordy Figs go to work. On any given day the ladies could be found doing a variety of things. While Jordy is talking to a caterer, Angie and her Fiance Eric could be busy designing and building a custom made bar.
“Props, sets – we build everything on site so if there’s a bride that sees something on Pinterest, because that’s really big with the bridal in today’s world, well we cannot only build it, we do building and we make it better because we personalize it for the bride,” Angie says.
They currently have two warehouses full of these custom props – most of which are made from recycled and reclaimed material.

Angie loves every bit of the event planning process. She carries her excitement and and passion with her until the event is complete.
“What is amazing is all of that hard work and all that energy and all of that heart and soul that we put into something comes to life and it’s right in front of us,” Angie says. “To see the tears and the smiles and it’s just amazing, very emotional and it’s an amazing experience.”
