Poison Ivy – Monday, June 29, 2015
Researchers did a study where they put different plants in a high CO2 environment. The gas made their leaves grow, especially poison ivy plants, which made them more potent. Lisa Washburn, Wellness Ambassador, says you can get poison ivy rashes indirectly as well. Your dog can carry it inside the house with the oils on his fur. You can even get it from inhaling the oils fumes.
If you do get poison ivy blisters, resist itching. A doctor can give you medications to help soothe the irritation. Cucumber, banana peels, apple cider vinegar, and an oatmeal bath are home remedies that could help soothe the irritation as well.
