Chronic Pain and Pill Box Dropoff – Thursday, June 25, 2015
No one plans to get addicted to prescription pain medicine – it just happens. It is important to take precautions against it to protect you and your loved one. Get rid of the medications you no longer use – you do not want to leave them in your cabinet for sticky fingers, but do not flush them down your toilet or throw them away. Some pharmacies are charging people for a safe bag to dispose their medication.
Matey Barker, with Somerset County Health Department, says that they have created a “pill box dropoff” box. You can go and deposit unused and expired medication to keep them out of the hands of people who would want to use them.
What is permitted in the Drug Take Back box:
- Prescription medications
- Controlled substances
- OTC medication
- Medication samples
- Pet medication
- Liquid Medications
