U.S. 13 Dragway Team Leaves Great First Impression at SBRA Finals
U.S. 13 Dragway joined the SBRA circuit this season for the first time, making it the 7th track in the running. Each track has a chance to bring a team of 40-50 racers to run as a team against other tracks for the SBRA title. The U.S. 13 team began racing last Wednesday when the team scored its first win in day #1 with Brett Holston picking up the Jr. Dragster Gambler win.

Day #2 brought a new race along with a “High Roller” race only allowing 64 racers in the Footbrake class and in the Super Pro class. As the rain was moving in Frank Lecates made it to the final four cars in the High Roller race. Due to the showers the final four racers split the winning purse, calling the race complete.
Day #3 was the day of Champions. Each track sends in several racers into the “Race of Champions”. Footbrake and Super class had the Top 5 in points, Jr. Dragster and Bikes were top two in points. As the day progressed the U.S. 13 team had two of its racers in the Footbrake Race of Champions Final. Daryl Beauchamp and Vince Wade were to face off in the final where Vince Wade took the win.

Day #4 was the last day for the gamblers race before the big event would begin on that Sunday. Several U.S. 13 racers went rounds in the Gamblers race but due to cold tempatures the track called off the remainder of the races for the night. In the same day Humphrey Maddox Jr won the 50/50 raffle allowing U.S. 13 Dragway to pick up another type of win for the day.
Day #5 was the main event for the SBRA Bracket Finals. As the team competed they found theirselves finishing 3rd in the team points standings. Along with a strong finish in points the team took home two class champions. Frank Lecates finished the week out strong with the Super Pro SBRA Bracket Finals Champion Title and Morgan Larkin the SBRA Bracket Final Champion title win in the Jr. Dragster class to finish the week out on top.

As the U.S. 13 Dragway team competed in Maryland, it also sent its #1 racers in their own points program to Memphis International Raceway. Alexis Truitt competed in the Jr. Dragster class, Tim Foskey in the Footbrake class and Mike Jones in the Super Pro class. All three racers went rounds while in Tennessee but could not seal the deal at the World Finals. Each of the drivers drove their heart out all season to have a chance to compete in Memphis and their skills showed as they went rounds competing against the best of the best.
