The video for “Honey, I’m Good” has over 32 million views on YouTube and features couples lip singing and dancing to the song while revealing how long they have been with their partner. This hit tune has taken the country by storm and everyone is loving it! Local fans are loving Grammer too.
On August 5, at the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach, Del., Grammer performed at a sold out show. The place was packed and it was hot, but that didn’t stop people from singing, dancing, jumping around, and taking selfies with the band.
Grammer released his debut album in 2011 with hits “Keep Your Head Up” and “Fine By Me.” Grammer’s debut album sales for the first week earned him the #1 spot on the Billboard New Artist Chart. His second album is titled, “Magazines or Novels,” and features the hits “Back Home” and “Honey, I’m Good.”
While on stage during his Dewey performance, Grammer talked about how he got to where he is today. He was a street musician in Los Angeles for many years, which inspired his song, “Biggest Man in Los Angeles.” Grammer sang many of his hits and also sang covers such as “Thrift Shop‘” by Macklemore and “Trumpets” by Jason Derulo, where a beat with the chanting of ‘Dewey Beach’ was in the background.
“Honey, I’m Good” is a song about monogamy and temptation. Grammer admits that while being out on the road, there are pretty girls all over the place flaunting over him and he wanted to write a song about how real temptation is for people.
Grammer wanted to write an honest love song and wanted to make it known that being true to your partner is what it’s all about. He wanted to show that in the YouTube video as well which features couples who have been together for one month up to 70 years. It shows that there are still a lot of people in strong, loving relationships staying true to each other even after many years.

When did you start listening to Andy Grammer?
“I started listening to him before he really made it big, so probably around 2013.” – Brooke Tephabock, Millsboro, Del.
“First song of his that I heard was “Fine By Me” not long after I graduated high school. I’ve followed his music since then. That’s remained my favorite song of his since then. It was one of those songs that helped me stay happy during some tough times.” – Jeremy Stoeckel, Georgetown, Del.
What was the first song you heard by Andy Grammer?
“The first song I heard was “Keep Your Head Up.” – Brooke Tephabock, Millsboro, Del.
“I knew his earlier songs “Keep Your Head Up” and “Fine By Me” when they were played on the radio a while ago, but just recently started listening to more of his music.” – Jessica Ludemann, Seaford, Del.
What is your favorite song by him now?
“My favorite song is Slow.” – Brooke Tephabock, Millsboro, Del.
“I don’t have just one favorite. I like “Honey I’m Good,” “Crazy Beautiful,” and “Forever” – Jessica Ludemann, Seaford, Del.
Have you ever seen him perform before?
“I have seen him perform before at the Pier 6 Pavillion.” – Brooke Tephabock, Millsboro, Del.
What are your thoughts on the sold out show at the Bottle & Cork?
“I think it’s great that tons of musical acts, such as him, are making their way to Delaware – from the beaches to the festivals up in Dover. Especially someone like him. When you hear that he’s originally from L.A., that makes it more awesome that he eventually made his way all the way here to little ‘ol Delaware. What was great was seeing some old friends from college there and it was a special moment that we were all together in the same place again.” – Jeremy Stoeckel, Georgetown, Del.
Have you been to the Bottle & Cork to see other shows?
“That was my first time seeing him perform and my first time ever at Bottle and Cork. I thought Bottle and Cork was a really nice venue actually. I liked the fact that they have more than one bar area so it’s not a crazy long line to wait and get a drink. It was getting hot and the music was really loud, but I guess that comes with a concert experience, especially being close to the stage.” – Jessica Ludemann, Seaford, Del.
“I have been to the Bottle and Cork once for their Sunday Jam session, but that’s it.” – Brooke Tephabock, Millsboro, Del.
What are your thoughts on big stars like Andy Grammer coming to Delaware to do a local concert?
“I think it is amazing that big stars are coming to Delaware, especially places small like Dewey.” – Brooke Tephabock, Millsboro, Del.
“I think it’s great that big names like Andy come to Delaware. People who follow him, or any big stars, may not necessarily know much about Delaware, but it attracts more people to the area and also gives locals an amazing experience without having to really leave home.” – Jessica Ludemann, Seaford, Del.
What are your thoughts on big acts coming to Delaware this summer such as Firefly, Big Barrel, and Delaware Junction coming up next weekend?
“Sometimes music festivals come with a bad reputation (drugs or whatever), but if you just want to go for a weekend with some friends and listen to some music, I say big festivals like Firefly and Big Barrel are amazing experiences. Delaware is tiny, but actually has some great attractions. Big name artists coming to perform here are a great way to give locals a great time and get new people to come and see what Delaware has to offer.” – Jessica Ludemann, Seaford, Del.
