Rehoboth Beach Tree Lighting Named Hometown Tradition
The Rehoboth Beach tradition is back in front of the bandstand for another year.
The annual Rehoboth Beach Tree Lighting event will kick off Friday, Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m. This year’s holiday sing-along will be hosted by Doug Yetter and the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus. The tree lighting will begin at 7 p.m.
This event is known as Rehoboth Beach’s official kickoff to the 2015 holiday season. According to Rehoboth Beach Main Street’s Executive Director, Krys Johnson, this year’s tree was donated by Harriett Magee of Rehoboth Beach.
Johnson says it will be an “old fashion sing-a-long; just old time Christmas carols and people singing.”
According to Johnson, this annual event brings thousands of spectators out for the night, who are welcome to come early and stay late.
“It’s a big collaboration with the city of Rehoboth Beach and the Rehoboth Beach Mainstreet,” Johnson said.
Local restaurants and shops will be staying open later in an effort to keep those visitors in Rehoboth, having a good time. There will also be a 2015 Commemorative Rehoboth Beach Tree Lighting Ornament for purchase at Christmas Spirit located on Rehoboth Avenue.
It’s time to get on your hats and gloves on and get ready to sing your best Silent Night!
