Kim and Corey Nahf have brought their three sons, Owen, 12, Jack, 9, and Ryan, 7, to the Eastern Shore beaches for the last 10 years. The boys play along with Kim’s creative photo ideas in return for a day of fun afterwards.

“I just think about the pictures for months before hand,” Kim said. “I find some ideas on Pinterest and others just come into my head.”
The family’s parents own a condo in Ocean City, Md. They bought the condo years ago because of their strong desire to be at the beach. Each year, they take a few weeks to wind down with the sounds of Ocean City’s waves crashing ashore.
“We travel every year the first weekend in December because of all the festivities that take place around that time,” Kim said. “We never miss the Lewes parade, the Rehoboth parade and Ocean City’s, we have also started doing Ocean City’s Festival of Lights.”
Kim says they started taking the pictures after her second son, Jack, was born. This is a tradition they plan to continue in the future.

Although, uncooperative in their first years of doing this, Kim now bribes the boys with a delicious beach treat after.
This year’s photos were taken on Assateague Island. Last year the family took their photos in Ocean City, the year before that, Cape Henlopen State Park.
This year’s warmer December weather has been a blessing for the family photos.
“The weather changed what they wore this year— usually they are on the beach freezing and they cry and complain!” Kim said.

Kim would love to make photography her profession, but for now, it is just a hobby.
Fun Fact: Kim’s mother-in-law made the Santa suit!
