Delaware Burn Camp Aims to Help Young Burn Survivors – Wednesday, July 15, 2015
For children, this can be extremely hard to deal with. That’s why the Delaware Burn Camp was created,”to provide a safe and natural environment for the promotion of physical and emotional healing to young victims of burn injury.”
The camp is held each summer at Camp Barnes in Frankford, DE and is open to burn victims ages 6-18. It’s free to attend and is run by nurses, fire fighters and other volunteers from around the state.
The Delaware Burn Camp features all sorts of activities including archery, horseback riding, arts and crafts, and swimming, and are all tailored to fit the physical and special needs of burn survivors.
This year’s Delaware Burn Camp will run from August 10th-15th. If you, or someone you know, is a burn survivor and would like to attend camp, visit their website www.delawareburncamp.com.
