Salisbury Restaurant Weeks Runs April 11-17
The week filled with signature dishes and delicious cuisine will run from April 11-17 in the Delmarva city, featuring nearly 20 restaurants.
Salisbury Chamber of Commerce Director of Media and Public Relations, Sophia Smecker, is excited to see how this week will benefit the city.
“We thought it would be a great opportunity to showcase the local culinary talents here and give people an opportunity to support our local economy,” Smecker said.
The Salisbury Chamber of Commerce members aren’t the only ones excited about the event. Imad Abu, owner of Cactus Taverna, says this week really brings the customers out.
“Yesterday was the first day and it was a great success, we had a lot of people come in for Salisbury Restaurant Week,” Abu said.
Daniel Mears, owner and head chef at The Corner Grill, has worked in the big cities and he says it’s something he has always participated in.
“It’s something fun to get the word out without spendiong a lot of money on advertising,” Mears said. “I think it’s one of the better moves we are taking towards revitalizing the city… I’m really happy Salisbury is making the positive changes to make food one of the city’s main centerpieces…”
