Summer is a great time of the year because there’s so much to do! Cookouts, family vacations, parties, weddings, beach trips the list goes on, but there’s a few things we need to take care of before we put on the sunscreen and head out into the heat for the day.
One of those things most woman (maybe men) need to consider is how to contain the frizz that the summer heat creates for hair. Thankfully the professionals at the About Faces Day Spa and Salon have the perfect solution to maintain the mane. Lisa stops by the Salisbury salon to learn how the stylists are using smoothing treatments to not only hold down unruly hairs but also keep them strong and healthy. Best part? The treatments are perfect for all hair types and only take thirty minutes! Hear all about it today at five.
Another great thing about summer is kicking off those shoes, burying your toes in the sand or maybe running around your backyard; but as great as that freedom feels on your toes, it may be doing more damage than you realize on your feet. Dr. Kevin Thomas, a foot and ankle surgeon at Thomas Podiatry and Associates, sat down with Jimmy to talk all things toes, including some of the common conditions he hears from his clients. From ingrown toenails to blisters and warts, Dr. Thomas addresses it all, as well as some ways to remedy your aching arches.
Now that we’ve got you all prepped for summer celebrations- it’s time to prep your pad. Whether your throwing a graduation, birthday or just good old summer soiree, party prep can sometimes be a massive headache, but it doesn’t have to be. 102.5 WBOC ‘s Corey Phoebus stops by Barton’s Grand Rental Station to hear how the business ensures that stress is not on your party’s invite list. They help with everything from tent, chair, and table rental to setup and breakdown after the party ends. They even have special rentals geared specifically to kids, as well as adults!
Now it’s time to talk about the food. Most would agree that summer calls for a good old grilled meal, and in order to have that, you’ve got to have a grill that can stand the heat, so you can step out of the kitchen. We hear from some of the professionals at Spicer Bros about some of their state-of-the-art grilling equipment and techniques that are sure to make your backyard feast incredible. They also give us a step-by-step recipe of how to make amazing summer shish-kabobs that only take around ten minutes!
Finally, not a dry eye was present after we heard the incredible story and journey of Jay Liesener. Jay sadly was involved in an accident that left him only able to use about fifteen-percent of his body, but that certainly didn’t slow him down. Jay was determined to break free from what could have been a defeating obstacle, and was able to gain the strength and support to eventually climb back onto a surfboard and get back into the water, and create an incredible family with “Team Surfgimp“. Although Jay has sadly decided to retire his surfboard in the near future, he has one more thing planned before he calls it quits for good. Hear the full story, plus what he has planned for the future, today at five.
We also are giving away another prize in our “Summer Guide Giveaway”. Who will walk away the winner of a $50 gift card to Delmar Pizza? We have that answer today at five.
