For as long as we have all loved a good Smith Island Cake, believe it or not, there was a time when a published recipe was non-existent. Intriguing to writer, Tracy Sahler, who met with a local Smith Island woman, who for decades, served up her 10-layer cake to visitors at the Smith Island Motel. Today, we talk with Tracy and her husband, Erick, to find out how they learned how to make this top-secret recipe.
