How One Man Was Inspired to Take the Trip of a Lifetime by Bicycle
When Rick Erline turned on DelmarvaLife while making dinner with his wife, he did not expect for it to change his life.
Erline tuned in as Kirsten Cerbone spoke to Jimmy and Lisa about her trip from Baltimore to San Diego by bike. Kirsten, a bubbly Towson University student, decided to join the Ulman Cancer Fund and take a 4,000 mile ride in honor of her Aunt, who she was unable to support during her battle with cancer. As shocking as the trek may have been, she was on the show to talk about her next bike trip called Keys to Keys, which departs from Baltimore and goes down the coast, with a final stop in Key West, Florida.
Rick was inspired to take this trip seeing as he graduated from Towson University with both his bachelors and master’s degrees, her energetic personality, and because of the final destination for the trip. Rick’s daughter, Grace Erline, was diagnosed with cancer in October of 2014. When she learned that her cancer was terminal, she knew she wanted to visit Key West and it was the last vacation she took before passing away. He hopes this trip will help him reflect on the passing of his daughter and will inspire others to donate money for the Ulman Cancer Fund.
