Jimmy and Lisa sit down with local artist, Glenn Linton, who told us about his passion for stone sculpting that has been with him since he was a boy.
He shows Jimmy and Lisa just what it takes to create one-of-a-kind pieces of art, down to the very details. Jimmy picked up his file and got to work on a shorebird stone sculpture, while Lisa chiseled away at a dolphin sculpture.
“First thing you want to do is hit the edges. Now if I was chiseling this and I was doing a large piece like that, I’d go along with the vein. That’s very important with all the sculptures you get” says Linton. He went on to tell Jimmy and Lisa how he meticulously crafts each piece, while paying attention to the characteristics of each stone in his hands.
Linton also went on to say there is one thing he refuses to use while making his sculptures. Any guess? Watch the clip to find out.
