Local Couple Starts Blind and Para Soccer League
When Mike and Kennedy Wilson’s daughter was born blind, they assumed she would never have the opportunity to play soccer as they did when they were young.
They were wrong. Freedom Wilson woke up one day to tell them she wanted to play, and has developed a passion for the game. Now, Mike and Kennedy have started a soccer league for Freedom and other children with disabilities. Contender Academy is defying the odds by training the blind and handicapped to play soccer! Kennedy Wilson and Sarah Phillips teach young students to overcome their shortcomings by playing to their strengths.
